Michael Warren

 Professional Profile – Original English

An American, Michael Warren West (“Uncle Mike”) was born on February 16, 1958, in his nation’s capital, Washington, DC.  Michael attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, graduating “Magna Cum Laude” with majors in English Literature and Psychology. 

After graduation, Michael worked for fifteen years with numerous Richmond law offices, concentrating in the areas of Criminal Law, Domestic Law and Immigration Law.  In addition, Michael worked in the field of Developmental Linguistics, assisting in the development of a computer-based lexical set for use in assessing English language competency and developmental deficits. 

Michael has been teaching English as a Second Language in China since 2009.  He taught at university in Sichuan for six years before coming to Northwest Minzu University.  Michael has been teaching at our university for two years now, teaching courses in Oral English, Advanced Listening and Speaking and Intercultural Communications.

美国人， 迈克尔. 沃伦韦斯特。 ("外号麦克叔叔") 出生于 1958年2月16日, 在他的国家的首都, 华盛顿特区。 迈克尔就读于弗吉尼亚的弗吉尼亚联邦大学,主修英语文学与心理学， 以 "优等生"荣誉毕业。

毕业后, 迈克尔辗转多个里士满法律办公室, 工作了十五年有余，主要集中在刑法, 国内法和移民法领域。 此外, 迈克尔对发展语言学领域不断研究，自创一套计算机化的词汇集, 用于评估学生的英语语言能力和学习短板。

自2009年以来, 迈克尔一直在中国教英语。 在来到西北民族大学之前, 他在四川的大学任教了六年。 迈克尔已经在我们大学任教两年了, 在英语口语、高级听和说和跨文化交流方面开设了课程。
